    you who live on the earth,
when a banner^(B) is raised on the mountains,
    you will see it,
and when a trumpet^(C) sounds,
    you will hear it.

¹⁹ Lord, my strength and my fortress,
    my refuge^(A) in time of distress,
to you the nations will come^(B)
    from the ends of the earth and say,
“Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods,^(C)
    worthless idols^(D) that did them no good.^(E)

²⁹ May nations serve you
    and peoples bow down to you.^(A)
Be lord over your brothers,
    and may the sons of your mother bow down to you.^(B)
May those who curse you be cursed
    and those who bless you be blessed.^(C)”

² From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;^(A)
    lead me to the rock^(B) that is higher than I.

“The kingdom of the world has become
    the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,^(C)
    and he will reign for ever and ever.”^(D)
